Kanpur: SP MLA Irfan Solanki’s wife Naseem Solanki and their lawyer Gaurav Dixit conducted a press conference at the Press Club on Friday evening. They alleged that SP MLA Irfan Solanki is being harassed in Maharajganj Jail and he is not being treated even after the advice of doctors.

He further said that the family of MLA has full faith in the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
He said that the Commissioner of Police and Joint Commissioner of Police have also been misled by their juniors.
The house located on a plot in Jajmau and on which there were charges made against Irfan by it’s owner Nazir Fatima of setting it on fire, the latter, besides Shamsul Hasan, Naseem Arif, Aqeel Ahmed, Vimal Kumar and Ashu had demanded a sum of Rs 15 lakh from Irfan’s brother Rizwan, alleged lawyer Dixit further.
In this Rs 12 lakh has been given in cash and Rs 3 lakh by cheque, he said and added, “A written complaint was made on October 10 at Jajmau police station but the report was not lodged, while the police, on behalf of Naseem, Aqeel and Vimal, wrote an FIR against Irfan, Rizwan for extortion and land grab in December.”
Advocate Gaurav Dixit said that Irfan is accused of traveling by air by using a fake Aadhaar card, which was in the name of one Ashraf Ali. On this, Irfan Solanki wrote a letter to the SHO of Kotwali on December 7 from Kanpur Jail telling him that Ashraf Ali had told him that it was the police who were talking about preparing fake Aadhaar cards. However, the police did not file a report on this complaint letter either.
Dixit also raised questions that the police had registered the report on November 26 without even recovering the Aadhaar card. “How did the police come to know that Irfan traveled on a fake Aadhaar card,” he alleged.
Irfan’s wife Naseem meanwhile said that her husband has spine and kidney related ailments and the doctors of Maharajganj government hospital wrote several tests, but the jail administration did not get any done.
