Cops, Maoists engage in gun battle
Chatra: A team comprising state police and CoBRA personnel engaged with suspected armed Maoists in Angada-Banwar forest on the borders of Pratappur under Kunda police station on Friday. Simaria sub-divisional police officer Ashok Priyadarshi and Pratappur police station officer in-charge Binod Kumar were leading the team. About the gun battle, officials said they have entered into the forest area where Maoists were present. After a brief firing, the Maoists, around two dozen in number, escaped into the deep forest area. TNN
