VARANASI: Properties of former minister Angad Yadav worth Rs. 40 lakh were attached under Gangster Act in Sidhari area of Azamgarh district on Friday.
According to police, Yadav has three cases of serious crimes like murder, attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy from 2000 to 2015. The assets created out of the money earned by the accused by committing crime included a house constructed by his wife Vimla on 255 square meters of land at Moosepur and a motorcycle purchased by himself.
The properties were attached on the order of Azamgarh district magistrate Vishal Bhardwaj in presence of Sidhari SHO Nand Kumar Tiwari and Naib Tehsildar Sadar Neeraj Kumar Tiwari.
Azamgarh SP Anurag Arya said that the attachment of properties was done under section 14(1) of UP Anti-Social Activities Prevention Act-1986. “The drive against criminals will continue in the district,” he said.
