GREATER NOIDA: Under the Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana, 13 primary schools in Gautam Budh Nagar will be turned into Abhyudaya composite schools.
In the first phase, five schools have been selected in Jewar, including Tirthali, Sabota Mustafabad, Jhuppa, Jewar Khadar and Chiroli. In the second phase, eight schools will be developed in the district.
Under the plan, schools from classes 1 to 8 will be taken and provided with all technical and modern facilities on the lines of smart classes.
“Arrangements will be made for the admission of about 800 students from classes 1 to 8 in the Abhyudaya Composite Schools where teaching will be done along the lines of smart classes. The schools will be equipped with all modern facilities like a library, computer lab and lab facilities for science subjects,” said Aishwarya Lakshmi, basic education officer, GB Nagar.
Schools with about 3,000 sqm of land will qualify for this scheme and the building of such schools will be environment-friendly and equipped with earthquake-resistance technology.
Along with this, mid-day meals, a dining hall, a kitchen, multiple handwashes, drinking water units, a cycle stand and parking
space for other vehicles will be provided in the schools.
These schools will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.5 crore. A source from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) said the tender process for developing the five schools will begin soon.
“Efforts are being made to provide quality education. Monitoring of all primary schools has already increased so that children can avail a better environment,” added Lakshmi.
