On eve of MA exams, chaos over hall tickets at MSU
Vadodara: At least 50 students pursuing their masters at MS University’s Faculty of Arts will not be able to appear in their exams that will begin on Saturday.
Just a day before their exams, scores of students were left in the lurch as they could not download their hall tickets mandatory for appearing for the exams.
The semester-3 exams of MA students are scheduled from Saturday. But just a day before the exams, students were told by the faculty administration that they will not be able to generate their hall tickets as they had not submitted the requisite documents.
Ironically, the students have already appeared for their internal exams that were conducted by the faculty last month.
The sheer mismanagement in conducting the exams smoothly has once again brought to focus the lack of coordination between faculty dean, the academic section and the examination section of the university.
“When I enquired, I came to know that my GAP certificate and my original migration certificates were not submitted to the university administration. This is surprising as I submitted the GAP certificate on September 7, 2021, and the migration certificate on July 20, 2022,” said a MA Hindi student.
Perturbed by the last minute chaos, even teachers of the faculty rued the lack of coordination. “How will students come to know if some documents are missing from anybody’s record,” said a teacher. A source close to the development said that the academic section had already shared a list of students whose documents were pending but the list of students was not shared with the respective head of departments resulting in chaos.
“It is unfortunate that students have to face such issues time and again. Ideally, the faculty should have declared the time-table a fortnight in advance and students should have been able to download their hall tickets as and when the time-table is declared so that there is no last minute agony caused to them,” said the teacher.
