Ranchi: Thirty eight teachers from the districts of Ranchi and Gumla will be trained in Udaipur for the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) labs launched in government middle schools.
In collaboration with the Jharkhand Education Project Council, Care India, a non-profit organisation, that promotes women's empowerment, health, and child education in rural areas, will begin the four-day training programme in Rajasthan’s Udaipur on January 10.
The lab in 70 schools in three districts of Gumla, Ranchi, and Khunti will teach students experimental knowledge in science and mathematics through the use of equipment.
With the help of a mobile innovator lab on a van containing math and science-related equipment, Care India is travelling from school to school to provide students with hands-on experience. In addition to other materials, these vans are stocked with interactive and engaging books, digital devices, mathematical manipulative, science lab equipment, puzzles and posters.
District superintendent of education, Akash Kumar said, "The initiative of providing teachers with training will increase their scientific and experimental support knowledge, allowing them to work on a practical level to instil in students a scientific disposition. After receiving training in technical support, teachers will instruct students with practical equipment and impart knowledge through their use. These types of experiential learning activities will help teachers in instructing students.
