Ludhiana: With the state government extending winter holidays for students of classes Nursery to VII to January 14, city teachers have hailed this move.
However, students from class VIII onwards have to attend schools from January 9 onwards from 10am to 3pm. Meanwhile, schools have switched to online classes to prevent academic loss.
Shilpi Gurtu principal of Ryan International School said, “We started the winter vacations as per government orders from December 24. From January 2, the school has started with online classes for four hours and all the teachers are working from home. But calling students from VIII onwards is a welcoming move.”
However, some teachers have also requested the government to not further increase the winter break, owing to academic loss.
