Former ward councillor shot dead over old rivalry in Rajasthan's Ajmer

JAIPUR: An ex-ward councillor was killed by unidentified assailants due to an old grudge in Ajmer district, Rajasthan on Saturday, as reported by the police. The shooting took place in Banseli village, Pushkar town.
Sawai Singh (70) was killed and Dinesh Tiwari (68) was injured by gunfire during the attack, according to Ganj SHO Dharamveer Singh.
The victims were rushed to JLN Hospital, Ajmer where Sawai succumbed to injuries during treatment, he said.
The police officer said that the attack was a fallout of an old rivalry. The matter is being investigated.
He said that police teams have been deployed near the hospital to avoid any untoward incident.
