AR constable held for raping 21-year-old girl

Hyderabad: A 25-year-old Armed Reserve constable was arrested for sexually exploiting a 21-year-old student and impregnating her with a false marriage promise. He even got her pregnancy terminated, police said.
The woman, who is a fashion design course student, lodged a complaint with Panjagutta police on Thursday alleging that she met the accused four years through a common friend. He was a constable with Armed Reserve at Petlaburj.
“By promising to marry me, the accused took me to a room and raped me first on November 21, 2020,” the complainant alleged. Subsequently, he sexually exploited her multiple times. Two-and-a-half months ago, he again raped her at his house. “She became pregnant after that,” cops said.
“As he refused to marry me, I approached SHE Teams and he approached me with a false promise to marry me. He gave me some pills for termination of pregnancy. I suffered a pregnancy loss and now, he is refusing to marry me,” the student alleged.
The accused constable was arrested on Friday and sent to judicial remand.
