56kg of banned single use plastic seized

Rajkot: In a drive against plastic, Rajkot Municipal Corporation’s (RMC) solid waste management branch seized 56kg of prohibited plastic from 82 units in the city on Friday. The officials collected Rs 58,400 as administrative charge for stocking the banned material and its sale. Certain single use plastic materials like tea cups, disposable dishes and plastic carry bags having thickness less than 75 microns are prohibited from stocking, distribution or sale. tnn
