Man, 30, gets life term for murdering mother in Tamil Nadu

VIRUDHUNAGAR: A mahila court in Srivilliputhur on Friday convicted and sentenced a man to undergo life imprisonment for murdering his mother.
The case of the prosecution is that Gurusamy alias Raja, 30, is a resident of Moolipatti village near Virudhunagar. He used to pick up frequent quarrels with his mother Subbulakshmi demanding money. On April 11, 2019, Raja demanded money from his mother. Since she refused, Raja assaulted Subbulakshmi with a steel rod. She died on the spot. The Amathur police had registered a case and arrested Raja.
On Friday, mahila court judge T Bagavathiammal convicted and sentenced Raja to undergo life imprisonment, and imposed a fine of 2,500 on him.
