Rajkot: A woman assistant sub-inspector was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 on Friday. According to the anti corruption bureau (ACB), ASI Geeta Pandya (50) posted at Malaviyanagar police station of Rajkot was caught in their trap. A statement issued by the ACB said that the complainant and her husband had been booked for physical assault in Malviyanagar police station. Pandya allegedly demanded bribe of Rs 20,000 to grant them immediate bail and not to keep her husband in the lock up or beat him as the accused had turned himself in voluntarily. Pandya accepted Rs 10,000 earlier and on Friday, the complainant was supposed to give the remaining amount but she also informed the ACB which set a trap in the investigation room of the police station.
