K’taka native held for Baina phone theft

Vasco: Mormugao police on Friday arrested Mohammad Yusuf Hussain Shaikh, 47, a native of Davangiri, Karnataka in a phone theft case.
Police have recovered 11 mobile handsets, amounting to Rs 3 lakh, from his possession.
Police said that the accused was nabbed following a complaint by a person stating that his cellphone was stolen during his visit to Baina beach.
During investigation, the police managed to locate and nab the accused after tracking the stolen phone.
Following interrogation, the accused revealed that he had committed theft of 10 more mobile handsets from various places.
The accused was produced before JMFC Vasco andhas been remanded in three days police custody.
