Ayodhya traders get Rs 100 crore compensation

AYODHYA: Amid widening of the roads leading to the Ram temple, the Ayodhya administration has distributed more than Rs 100 crore as compensation to those whose buildings were affected in the process, officials said.
The Ayodhya administration has also started the process of allotments of new shops to the traders who were displaced after their shops were dismantled for the widening of roads.
Officials said that the work for widening of the roads leading to the Ramjanmabhoomi is going on at a fast pace as the full administrative machinery is working on war footing to complete it in the shortest time. The Ayodhya administration is working on three main roads that will be leading lakhs to devotees to the Ramjanmabhoomi - Ram Path, the lengthiest road of 13 km covering Faizabad and Ayodhya, the Bhakti Marg connecting Ram Path to Ramjanmabhoomi through Old Ayodhya bus station and the Mandir Path that connects the banks of river Saryu to Ramjanmabhoomi.
Talking to TOI, Ayodhya district magistrate Nitish Kumar said, "Till now we have distributed more than Rs 100 crore as compensation to the affected building owners whose buildings have to be removed for road widening. We are not only dismantling or removing the buildings but are more concerned about rehabilitation of those who have lost their properties. Till now, we have rehabilitated more than 100 traders by allotting them land elsewhere."
"Ayodhya is developing at a rapid pace and all the development works are being monitored by the chief minister himself," he said, adding that lakhs of devotees are coming to Ayodhya every day and it is the responsibility of the administration to respect and make space for the devotees coming from all over the world.
