Tamil Nadu Open University, Mother Teresa Women's University get new vice-chancellors

CHENNAI: Governor R N Ravi on Friday appointed new vice-chancellors for Tamil Nadu Open University (Chennai) and Mother Teresa Women's University (Kodaikanal).
Professor S Arumugam from Bharathidasan University has been appointed as the vice-chancellor of Tamil Nadu Open University while K Kala from Kongu College of Arts and Science, Karur, has been appointed as the vice-chancellor of Mother Teresa Women's University.
They will serve for a period of three years with effect from the date of assumption of office.
Arumugam, who has more than 25 years of experience in teaching and research, is currently serving as director of Centre for High Pressure Research, department of physics, in Bharathidasan University. He has also held several administrative positions, including the director of the Centre for Distance Education.
Kala is serving as the visiting professor in Kongu College of Arts and Science. She has more than 34 years of teaching experience. She held various positions including regional joint director, Trichy, and principal of NKR Government Arts College of Women, Namakkal, and Government Arts College, Karur.
