NEW DELHI: Panchamasali Lingayat on Friday rejected the 2D reservation assurance given by the Karnataka government.
The Lingayat leaders have given a new deadline to the Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai to announce the benefits as assured under the 2A category.
Earlier on Thursday, a meeting happened between several Lingayat leaders along with BJP and Congress leaders.
Basava Jaya Mruthyunjaya Swami who is spearheading this agitation said in the meeting that the chief minister should amend his decision in the next 24 hours.

Earlier, Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai sought time to take a decision on this issue after consulting legal experts and the BJP central leadership, according to official sources.
The Panchamasali Lingayat community wants to be included in category 2A (15 per cent) of OBC reservation matrix. They are currently included under 3B (5 per cent).
In the last week of December, Panchamasali Lingayats held a massive convention, as a show of strength in Belagavi under the leadership of Kudalasangama Panchamasali Peeth Seer Basava Jaya Mruthyunjaya Swami.
