8 injured after molten metal bar falls on them

Ludhiana: Eight labourers suffered burn injuries as a piece of molten iron from a furnace fell on them. The accident took place at a steel factory in Sahnewal area on Wednesday night. The other labourers rushed the injured to a nearby hospital. Three of the injured workers are in critical condition.
The victims who suffered serious injuries are Kiran Kumar of Durga Colony, Dhandari, Raj Kumar of Dhandari and Khush Lal of Kanganwal. Police said the victims were on night duty. Another injured worker, Sanjay Shah, said eight of them were working near the furnace when smoke engulfed the block and the molten metal fell on them. Inspector Sukhdev Singh, SHO, Sahnewal, said that the boiler developed a technical snag and it spewed out the molten iron. tnn
