20L new voters added to state electoral rolls

Jaipur: In all, 19.89 lakh new voters have been added to the electoral roll from 199 assembly constituencies as the final publication of voters’ list was issued on Thursday, a statement issued by the department said.
Of the total, 10.18 lakh are women and 9.70 lakh men. After the final publication of the list, there are 5.11 crore voters, the statement read. Of these, 2.44 crore are female voters and 2.66 male.
Rajasthan chief electoral officer Praveen Gupta informed that the final voters’ list, including figures of Sardarshahar assembly constituency, will be published on January 13. Due to a by-election in Sardarshahar assembly constituency, it was not included in the initial stage of the special summary revision programme. He added, there has been an increase of 2.52% in the number of women voters and 2.36% in men voters. TNN
