Hubballi: The
BJP Hubballi East unit has alleged that Congress MLA Prasad Abbaiyya discriminated on developmental work and many peojects were completely neglected by the MLA. Speaking at a press conference, Prabhu Navalgundmath, the president of the Hubballi East constituency, former MLA Veerabhadra Halaharavi, Chandrashakar Gokak, Basavaraj Amminbhavi and others alleged that Abbaiyya was putting pressure on officials and discriminating on development work. Halaharavi, said that since 2011-12, the Dr Babu Jagajivanram Bhavan construction work is incomplete. A bus terminal building in CBT, despite a spending of Rs 18 crore, was unfinished, he alleged. Navalgundmath, said the construction of a hospital in Old Hubballi is on at a snail's pace because of the negligence of the MLA. “Union minister Pralhad Joshi and others also asked MLA Abbaiyya to take up \development work effectively, but nothing has been done,” he said.

Three caught in extortion case in ChitradurgaChitradurga: The Chitradurga
rural police nabbed three youths in connection with an extortion case on Wednesday. They have been sent to judicial custody. The police identified them as Santhosh, Peer Naik and Ankith. All three are
in their twenties and from Davanagere. The trio attacked Rampraksh Tiwari while he was sitting in the cabin of a parked truck near the Ring Road of an underpass
near Madakaripura on the outskirts of Chitradurga in the wee hours of Tuesday. The truck driver Santhosh had stopped the vehicle there to relieve himself when
the trio attacked Ramprakash.
The trio snatched three cellphones along with Rs 2 lakh in the vehicle. The police have recovered Rs 67,500 of the Rs 2 lakh and the three phones worth Rs 4 lakh from the three.
‘SWR has done well in electrification work’ Hubballi: SWR sector has achieved a lot in the electrification of railways in the country, said SWR G M Sanjeev Kishor. He told reporters here on Thursday that around 60%
of the sector is fully electrified, which is an outstanding achievement compared to other sectors. A
revenue of Rs 2,500 crore has
come from passengers. The total revenue collection has crossed
Rs 7,500 crore for the first time,
he said. The sector completed construction of 19 RoBs and 35 RuBs during the calendar year. The redevelopment work of Belagavi and Hospete railway stations is been done, and PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate them soon. A major plan is being prepared for the improvement of Cantonment station in Bengaluru.
