More cops assigned to probe case
Delhi Police commissioner Sanjay Arora has assigned some crime branch officers and a few experienced cops from other areas to assist in the investigation. They are part of the core team probing the case.

Special commissioner Sagar Preet Hooda said police had established that the accident took place between 2.04am and 2.06am and the body was found around 4.15am. "The distance between the place where the incident took place and the spot where the body was found is around 10-12km, but it is not possible to say for how long the body was dragged," he said.
DCW demands CBI probe
Delhi Commission for Women’s chairperson Swati Maliwal has sought a CBI probe into the Kanjhawala hit-and-run case. She said that she was not satisfied with the probe so far.

Taking exception to the delay in release of lifers from prisons in Uttar Pradesh despite being eligible for remission of sentence after having suffered more than 16 years’ incarceration, the Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the director general (prisons) to submit a time frame within which they would be set free, reports Dhananjay Mahapatra.
To improve connectivity to metro rail stations, the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) plans to widen seven city roads including the arterial Sardar Patel Road from 20 metres to 30. 5 metres. The other six are Ethiraj Salai, Kilpauk Garden Road, Tank Bund Road, Greams Road, New Avadi Road and Perambur Barracks Road. The CMDA will acquire land to widen these roads to a minimum of 18 metres.
Two more dengue deaths were reported in the last week of 2022, taking the death toll due to the vector-borne disease in the city to nine, said the latest report of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. According to officials, the two deceased include an 11-year-old boy from East Krishna Nagar who died in Sir Ganga Ram hospital on October 28 last year and a 16-year-old boy from Subhash Mohalla North Ghonda who died in November last year.

Special CP (law and order) Sagar Preet Hooda said 18 teams were working on the Kanjhawala case, where 20-year-old Anjali was struck and dragged by a car for several kilometres, and a chargesheet would be filed at the earliest. Police are also exploring legal options to get the case heard in a fast-track court, said the senior cop.
