Vishwanath asks HDK not to level wild allegations
Mysuru: None too pleased with former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy’s statements about a Mysuru-based operator involved in prostitution having contrived to topple the coalition government, BJP MLC and former minister Adagooru H Vishwanath on Thursday called on the senior JD(S) leader to refrain from issuing unfounded statements.
Appealing to Kumaraswamy to comport himself more responsibly, Vishwanath reminded the former CM that he hailed from a highly esteemed family of politicians. The BJP MLC asked Kumaraswamy to eschew making such wild allegations.
Vishwanath attributed the collapse of the JD(S)-Congress coalition government to Kumaraswamy’s style of running the dispensation. The former minister said that Kumaraswamy’s failure to ensure good governance had prompted MLAs from both the Congress and JD(S) to raise the banner of revolt. Pointing out that he was one of the MLAs who had gone to Mumbai along with the other rebel legislators, Vishwanath said that he was unaware of any scandalous episode.
Meanwhile, in Shivamogga, senior BJP leader and former minister KS Eshwarappa on Thursday defended Karnataka BJP president and Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel’s statements on ‘Love Jihad’.
