SP delegation toattend AU students’ Maha Panchayat
Prayagraj: A eight-member delegation of the Samajwadi Party (SP) would be visiting the campus of Allahabad University on January 12.
The delegation would be arriving to participate in the Student Maha-Panchayat being called by the group of student leaders who have been protesting on the campus over the issue of fee hike and reinstatement of the student union on the campus.
According to Ajay Yadav ‘Samrat’, the student leader leading the protest on the campus, “The state president of SP, Naresh Uttam, has issued a letter on Tuesday wherein our leader has mentioned that on the instructions of the national president of SP, Akhilesh Yadav, an eight-member delegation would be arriving at AU to participate in the Maha-Panchayat on January 12”.
The delegation would be led by former Member of Parliament, Dharmendra Yadav. The other members include MLA Om Prakash Singh, MLA RK Verma, MLA Atul Pradhan, MLA Sandeep Patel, former minister Ram Asare Vishwakarma, outgoing district president of SP Yogesh Yadav, outgoing mahanagar president of SP Syed Iftekhar Hussain.
In another development on Tuesday, former student union president of Allahabad University student union, Avnish Yadav visited the campus to lend his support to the movement. He visited the entire campus and appealed to students to participate in large numbers in student mahapanchayat to be held on the occasion of Youth Day and give their support.
Ajay Yadav said that the preparations for the student mahapanchayat are going on in full swing.
