Cov rules to return when schools reopen after winter break
Ranchi: In the wake of a fresh Covid-19 alert issued by the Centre, many schools have decided to re-implemented the mask rule and other Covid-appropriate behaviour on their campus after they reopen after winter vacation.
Besides masks, school managements also said they are reintroducing hand sanitiser, social distancing and putting stress on taking the booster doses for the eligible students.
The students of St Columbus School in Chutia were seen wearing masks on Tuesday, the first day of school after the winter break. The students also carried hand sanitiser to their school.
Aman Singh, the vice-chairman of St Columbus School, said, “In view of the fresh scare, we have mandated that all students wear masks and adhere to social distancing protocols. Before the reopening of schools, we informed them to carry hand sanitiser and are enforcing the precautions. Those without masks will not be permitted to enter classroom.”
Similarly, the DAV Alok school has made it compulsory for its students to submit vaccination certificates.
It will also hold classes with social distancing when the school reopens on January 10.
Ashok Kumar, the principal of the school, said, “We have requested to all eligible students complete their doses of Covid vaccine, including the booster. When the school reopens after the winter break, the children will be required to submit their vaccination certificates. They will have to wear masks and maintain 6-feet distances among themselves. In addition, we are planning to expand the section for the classes so that only one student will sit on a single bench. All preventive measures will be implemented.”
