Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 10:09AM

Future Consumer(up 3.13%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 1.07%), Jyothy Labs(up 1.03%), Dangee Dums(up 0.81%), Varun Beverages(up 0.48%), Zydus Wellness(up 0.45%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 0.28%), Prataap Snacks(up 0.27%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.23%) and Nakoda Group(up 0.18%) were among the top gainers.

Euro India Fresh Foods(down 2.95%), Sheetal Cool Products(down 2.37%), ADF Foods(down 1.32%), Heritage Foods(down 0.86%), Umang Dairies(down 0.72%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.72%), Nestle India(down 0.68%), Hindustan Foods(down 0.59%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.46%) and Bajaj Consumer(down 0.44%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 97.15 points down at 18135.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 319.86 points at 60974.34 at around 10:09AM.

HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.42%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.0%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.97%), SBI Life(up 0.37%), Cipla(up 0.31%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.31%), Asian Paints(up 0.2%), ICICI Bank(up 0.17%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.16%) and Axis Bank(up 0.15%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 3.05%), JSW Steel(down 2.61%), Coal India(down 2.19%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.77%), Tata Motors(down 1.69%), Tata Steel(down 1.52%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.37%), ITC(down 1.13%), Wipro(down 1.08%) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.07%) were trading in the red.
