Dense fog delays trains, grounds flights

Lucknow: At least 46 trains and several flights were delayed or cancelled in city on Tuesday due to dense fog that reduced visibility drastically.
While NR Lucknow reported 21 trains running late NER Lucknow reported 25 trains running late.
Trains like Bhagalpur-Gandhidham Express was delayed by 11-hours, Jammu Tawi-Varanasi Express by 10.40 hours, Ganga Sutlej Firozpur Cantt-Dhanbad Express by eight hours. Chandigarh-Patliputra Express was running late by 10 hours, Chandigarh-Lucknow Express was delayed by four-hours, Lucknow Mail arrived at Lucknow junction 3.26 hours behind schedule and Chandigarh-Lucknow Express arrived six-hours late.
Three flights, including two of Go First coming from Mumbai and IndiGo flight from Goa, were late. Two flights of AirAsia bound for Delhi were delayed, Go First Mumbai bound flight too was delayed while IndiGo’s Pune bound was late. Indigo also cancelled Delhi-Lucknow and Lucknow to Delhi flights. Similarly, Lucknow to Pantnagar flight was cancelled. Flights from Chandigarh to Lucknow and Guwahati to Lucknow were running late.
Similar situation was for international flights too. FLy Dubai flight between Lucknow and Dubai, Saudia flight between Lucknow and Jeddah and Flynas flight between Lucknow and Riyadh were operating late.
