Traffic diversions announced for 1st major snan

Prayagraj: In view of the first major snan of Magh Mela on January 6, the district traffic police authorities on Tuesday announced road diversion plan for heavy and commercial vehicles.
Cops said plan has been introduced to streamline the traffic for those visiting the Magh Mela for the Paush Purmina snan. As per the plan, 10 static spots have been set up from where there would be no entry for heavy and commercial vehicles. The diversion would remain effective from January 4 midnight till January 7 midnight.
Besides, traffic police have also come up with road diversion plan for heavy vehicles on six routes connecting Prayagraj with Lucknow, Pratapgarh, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Mirzapur and Reewa. A senior cop said, mela traffic police have also made special route plan for kalpwasis who would be entering the mela campus via pontoon bridge no 5 and Sangam lower marg. Besides, 10 parking slots have also been set up for vehicles in and around the mela campus. tnn
