Ahmedabad: Passengers flying to Jaipur from Ahmedabad early on Tuesday morning had a torturous journey.
The departure of an IndiGo airlines flight, 6E-7114 from Ahmedabad to Jaipur, was delayed by nearly three hours and passengers were kept aboard the aircraft for the entire period, sources in the airport said.
As fog engulfed the Pink City and badly reduced visibility, the flight was not cleared for take-off. IndiGo did not comment on the matter.
According to sources, the flight was scheduled to take off at 7.15 from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) airport here on Tuesday.
“The flight finally left only after 10am. Passengers were on the aircraft throughout and were not disembarked,” the source said.
Many passengers were distressed and there was a ruckus on board.
Due to operational constraints and poor weather conditions in several parts of the country, some twelve departures to various destinations were delayed from SVPI airport.
These included flights to Delhi, Pune, Bagdogra, Kolkata, Jaisalmer, Chandigarh, Jammu, Mumbai and Jaipur, airport sources said.
