Kanhaiya killing: Special court will hear case on Jan 10
Jaipur: A special court in the city on Tuesday set January 10 as the next date for hearing in the Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal murder case when the court will decide on taking congisance of charge-sheet or not in this case.
The nine accused were produced before the court amidst a tight security cover before the court. The court will take cognisance on January 10.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on December 22 produced a chargesheet against 11 accused including nine arrested persons and two Pakistani nationals.
The agency’s probe revealed that the accused were operating as a “terror-gang module” that took inspiration from ‘incriminating’ audio and video messages that were circulated from within and outside the country.
Lal was murdered inside his shop ‘Supreme Tailors’ in Bhoot Mahal area of Maldas Street in Udaipur.
Two persons, Gaus Mohammad and Mohammad Riyaz, had entered the shop masquerading as customers and beheaded Lal for a social media post supporting suspendedBJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s controversial remarks. Two assistants of the tailor also sustained injuries in the attack.
