Ahmedabad man booked for raping Rajkot ex-colleague

Rajkot: A man from Ahmedabad was booked for allegedly raping his ex-colleague from Rajkot city multiple times, recording her nude videos and blackmailing her. Police said that the accused Zubin Pathan had developed a friendship with the woman when they were working together in Ahmedabad.
According to a complaint filed by the 30-year-old woman with Rajkot taluka police station on Monday, Pathan came in touch with her in 2018 when she was working for a private company in Ahmedabad. Six months after they met, the woman returned to Rajkot to prepare for competitive exams.

The woman alleged in her complaint that Pathan come to Rajkot in November 2021 and took her to a hotel on 150-feet Ring Road. He allegedly raped her multiple times and also recorded videos of the act and took her nude pictures on his mobile phone.
The complaint further states that the woman severed all ties with Pathan post the rape incident. But six months ago Pathan started blackmailing her using videos and pictures. He threatened to make the videos viral on social media and raped her again several times.
Tired of the constant harassment, the woman told her family about Pathan and lodged a police complaint on Monday under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 376 and 506.
