MUMBAI: An allegedly inebriated student was arrested by Sahar police on Monday after his car brushed a road divider, causing it to turn turtle and injuring its occupants, including himself.
Rajveer Singh, 20, was booked for drunk driving and rash driving and released on bail. He was travelling with his friends, Arpit Singh, 20, and Dhruv Rathod, 20, both students. Police said the boys had gone to a restaurant in Bandra to celebrate Rajveer's birthday. Police said the boys were sloshed.
Around 1.30am, the group reached Sahar elevated road in a car, which Rajveer was driving. While descending the flyover, he had difficulty in negotiating a turn near Ambassador Junction, and the vehicle brushed against the divider. Rajveer injured his right arm, while Arpit suffered head and leg injuries.
Rajveer was booked under Indian Penal Code provisions and released on bail.
