When Chennai mayor turned school inspector

CHENNAI: In a sudden inspection at Chennai Corporation schools on Wednesday, mayor R Priya checked the quality of teaching, homework and handwriting of corporation school students.
She inspected construction of buildings in schools in Thiru Vi Ka Nagar. Buildings are being constructed in three schools in wards 71, 74 and 73.
The mayor visited a few classrooms in the schools to check the quality of teaching and work given to the students. She checked English newspapers provided to the students. She interacted with the students in English as well.
She checked the handwriting quality and requested the teachers to give special focus on improving handwriting. She then inquired about the homework given and whether the teachers were following it up on them.
Thiru Vi Ka Nagar MLA Thayagam Kavi and zonal officer Murugan were present.
