PATNA: BJP national president J P Nadda on Tuesday lashed out at CM
Nitish Kumar and accused him of betraying the mandate, given by the people in the 2020 assembly elections, by forming the Grand Alliance government with RJD and a few other parties in the state. He said the 'jungle raj' has come back in
Bihar.
"The time has come for the BJP to rule the state and write its new development story," said Nadda, who visited Bihar for the first time after the change of state government in August last. He also launched the plan and programme of the BJP to cover all the 40 parliamentary constituencies in the state to be addressed by the party's senior leaders in the weeks and months to come.
Addressing a public meeting at Paru in Muzaffarpur district, Nadda said, "He (Nitish) disrespected the mandate given in 2020 and, in fact, betrayed that mandate." He asked people of the state to give a fitting reply to Nitish in a democratic way during the 2025 assembly elections.
Nadda said differences have begun to surface in the Grand Alliance which, in turn, is affecting the governance of the state. "It is not clear who is actually ruling the government of Sushashan Babu (read Nitish)," Nadda said, taking a dig at Nitish's deputy and RJD's CM face Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.
Recalling his own remarks that he made during the 2020 state assembly elections that the victory of Tejashwi in the polls will bring in 'jungle raj', Nadda said: "Today, the jungle raj is already there in the state. Murders, kidnappings for ransom and other forms of crime have received a new spurt. Law and order situation is at its worst." Nadda said the BJP rule at the Centre and in Bihar will usher in further development of the state.
