Integrated commission to conduct TET, recruit teachers in UP

LUCKNOW: The state government on Tuesday decided to come up with an integrated UP Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) for timely selection of teachers in basic, secondary and higher education institutes as well as vocational colleges.
Holding a review meeting with education department officials on Tuesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the Commission, which would be an autonomous body, would be responsible for conducting Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) in a time-bound manner.
The new Commission, however, will have no role in disciplinary proceedings against teachers.
