Gurgaon: A driver with a city-based private company, along with his son, allegedly killed his former co-worker and dumped the body near KMP Expressway in Nuh, police said on Monday. The driver was allegedly angry over repeated taunts from the victim about him being gay. Seeing this as an attempt to “defame” him in society, the father-son duo plotted the murder, said cops. On Monday, police arrested them from their hideout in Mathura.
The accused, Hisar natives
Suresh Kumar and his son, Raj Kumar, allegedly killed 35-year-old Sombir, a Bhiwani native. Suresh and Sombir had worked as drivers with a Wazirabad-based company for five months before the former quit. On December 29, police recovered a body from a dry drain in Ghushpathi village near KMP Expressway and a black wallet from the body, with a card confirming the identity of the deceased as Sombir.
Police then launched an investigation and found that earlier, Suresh and Sombir's uncle Raj Singh worked with the same company as drivers. Raj had told Sombir that Suresh was a homosexual man. Despite Suresh refuting such claims, Sombir allegedly peddled this lie about his identity when the two started working as drivers with a company in Wazirpur. Suresh told police that after facing humiliation over his identity at his workplace, he left the company after five months. A month ago, he joined another company in the same area, but there also, Sombir told everyone that he was a homosexual man, which allegedly pushed him to take the extreme step.
Police said Suresh and his son forced Sombir into a car in Wazirpur and thrashed him before strangling him and dumping his body near KMP Expressway. An FIR has been lodgedat the Tauru police station.
