Resolve 150 petitions per day, says mayor
Tirupur: Mayor N Dinesh Kumar, who inspected the integrated command and control centre at the corporation’s main office on Monday, instructed officials to resolve at least 150 petitions daily.
The centre receives calls from residents, who can lodge complaints and queries on over 300 issues, ranging from solid waste management to water supply. The civic body reviewed 4,863 petitions at the centre last year.
Speaking to TOI, the mayor said he had set a target to resolve 55,000 petitions in the current year. “I have asked the officials to reach out to the 4,863 petitioners and resolve pending cases. The representatives attending calls in the centre were told to make sure the issue is resolved properly before closing the ticket.”
The centre, which is manned by 10 staff, receives 300 to 350 calls a day. A nodal officer was appointed at the centre on Monday to oversee the operation.
To ensure effective functioning of the corporation machinery, the mayor also directed the officials to represent issues within 48 hours to his notice.
