Satish Jarkiholi: Govt orders on Mahadayi, reservation lack clarity
Belagavi / Hubballi: There is no clarity in the orders passed by the government on providing reservation to Lingayat Panchamsali community and the Mahadayi project, said KPCC working president Satish Jarkiholi.
At a press conference at the Congress office here on Monday, Jarkiholi opined that the orders issued by the government in a hurry ahead of the assembly election in both serious matters have caused huge confusion.
He said the Congress party has planned a huge convention in Hubballi demanding the implementation of Kalasa-Banduri projects attached to Mahadayi river. He said government has completely failed in implementing the project. “We will take failures of the government to the people”, he said.
On the proposed Congress Bus Yatre from January 11, Satish said it will be started according to plan from Belagavi. Programmes will be held in Belagavi and Chikodi on the same day. KPCC president DK Shivkumar, opposition leader Siddaramaiah and other leaders will participate in its launch event, he said.
Joshi has lied: HK Patil
Union minister Pralhad Joshi has issued a false statement on the matter of permission of the forest department for the Mahadayi project, said former minister HK Patil. Speaking to reporters in Hubballi on Monday, Patil said Joshi had said there is no need of forest permission for Mahadayi project, but the government has applied for the permission on December 30. “Joshi should apologise for the lie,” he said.
“They chant the mantra of Mahadayi only during elections and misguide people” the Congress leader added.
