Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:14AM

Indowind Energy(up 4.83%), PIGL(up 3.39%), Reliance Power(up 2.72%), RTNPOWER(up 2.50%), Suzlon Energy(up 2.34%), Karma Energy(up 1.95%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 1.95%), Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is(up 1.88%), Energy Development Company(up 1.78%) and Indo Tech Transformers(up 1.76%) were among the top gainers.

Jyoti Structures(down 4.88%), Inox Wind Energy(down 1.73%), Adani Transmissions(down 0.20%) and Hitachi Energy India(down 0.06%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 34.05 points up at 18231.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 109.08 points at 61276.87 at around 10:14AM.

HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 2.84%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.71%), Bajaj Finance(up 1.42%), Axis Bank(up 0.85%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.75%), Tata Motors(up 0.67%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.67%), Cipla(up 0.66%), Tech Mahindra(up 0.55%) and Divis Laboratories(up 0.51%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 0.69%), JSW Steel(down 0.64%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.63%), Tata Steel(down 0.46%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.43%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.37%), Coal India(down 0.29%), Reliance Industries(down 0.24%), SBI Life(down 0.19%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.18%) were trading in the red.
