Mysuru Zoo to remain open today
Mysuru: Following heavy rush of tourists, Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens (Mysuru Zoo) will remain open on this Tuesday also. According to a press release issued by the zoo authorities, the zoo and Karanji Nature Park will be kept open for public on January 3 on account of New Year.
Literary volumes to be released
Mysuru: Comprehensive literature volumes of well known poet Subraya Chokkadi will be released here on Sunday January 8. These literary works include the collections of poems Bantamaleya Dhyana, stories and novels Kathalokha, and literary critique Avalokana. Writer and poet Abdul Rasheed will preside over the event. Veteran author and literary critic OL Nagabhushana Swamy will release the volumes. Writer Sindhu Rao, and cartoonist Dinesh Kukkujadka will talk about books and author. Author Subraya Chokkadi will present. The event will be held at Ideal Jawa auditorium on JLB road at 10.30am.
Over 5L visitors at palace in Dec
Mysuru: About 5,39,448 tourists visited the world famous Mysuru Palace in December. On December 31, 26,792 tourists visited the palace. Among the visitors, 2,71,101 were general public, 2,28,712 were students, 37,211 children, and 2,424 were foreigners.
