Harassment case against Hry min: Chd police set up SIT for fair probe
Chandigarh: Chandigarh police on Monday formed a four-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the allegations of sexual harassment levelled by a woman junior coach-athlete against Haryana minister and former hockey player Sandeep Singh in a fair manner.
The SIT will be headed by DSP (East) Palak Goel and she will be assisted by SHO Sector-26 police station Inspector Maninder Singh, SHO Women Police Station Inspector Usha Rani, SHO Cyber Cell Inspector Ranjit Singh.
When she was contacted by TOI for an update, the SIT head said, "As it is a sensitive matter and investigation is ongoing, I cannot share the details related to the case at present." But sources in the police force informed that the SIT members have been chosen keeping in mind the allegations levelled by the junior coach in her two-page complaint. All allegations of the victim including social media chats, her calls, meetings, press conferences will be examined and verified by the SIT members before calling and questioning the minister.
