Mysuru: Former Union minister and Chamarajanagar BJP MP V Srinivasa
Prasad on Monday called on party workers to work single-mindedly to ensure the saffron party secured a majority on its own in the forthcoming assembly elections in the state.
Prasad, who flagged off the ‘Booth Vijay Abhiyan’ in Jayalakshmipuram, which is part of the Chamaraja assembly constituency, said that party workers must reach out to voters registered on the rolls across the 58,185 polling booths divided among the 224 assembly seats in the state.
He said that, a proactive cadre would help the
BJP get a majority by itself. Workers must reach out to every last voter, collect feedback, and relay the same to the senior functionaries in the party, Prasad said.
The senior leader said that the BJP had fallen agonisingly short of a majority in the 2018 elections, owing to a few niggling issues, which had been addressed this time around, which would help the party secure 130 seats in the elections.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders flagged off the ‘Booth Vijay Abhiyan’ in all the assembly constituencies across Mysuru district.
President of the Mysuru city BJP unit TS Srivatsa flagged off the drive in Srirampura in Chamundehswari assembly seat, while former minister and Krishnaraja MLA SA Ramadas flagged off the campaign in the city.
