In Bihar, several trains delayed due to dense fog
PATNA: Altogether 104 long-distance mail and express trains either reaching or passing through Bihar were delayed by three to five hours on Monday due to foggy weather engulfing the entire Tundla-Kanpur-Prayagraj north-central region as well as Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction (DDU)-Buxar-Patna-Mokama-Jhjaha mainline route falling under the Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR).
The impact of dense fog was severe that 83 other special passenger trains running on different routes of the ECR's five divisions were delayed on Monday. Danapur division was the worst hit as 47 long-distance express trains were delayed, followed by Sonepur (36), Samastipur (34), DDU (10) and Dhanbad (5).
According to the ECR's chief public relations officer (CPRO) Birendra Kumar, the New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Terminal Tejas Rajdhani Express (12310) reached Patna 180 minutes late while the New Delhi Sampoorna Kranti Express (12394) was delayed by 70 minutes. "The New Delhi-Rajgir Shramjeevi Express (12392) reached Patna five hours late on Monday," he said.
