Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 11:27AM

Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 2.11%), Sakthi Sugars(up 1.93%), & Industries(up 1.60%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 1.58%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.02%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 0.68%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 0.43%), Rana Sugars(up 0.19%) and Bannari Amman Sugars(up 0.12%) were among the top gainers.

Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 4.62%), KCP Sugar & Industries(down 1.86%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 1.51%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 1.44%), EID Parry(down 1.04%), AVADHSUGAR(down 0.90%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.87%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 0.80%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 0.65%) and Uttam Sugar Mills(down 0.65%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 31.35 points up at 18228.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 90.27 points at 61258.06 at around 11:27AM.

HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 4.3%), SBI Life(up 2.26%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.14%), Axis Bank(up 1.12%), Bajaj Finance(up 1.09%), Tata Consultancy(up 1.07%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.9%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.73%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.69%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.64%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.86%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.84%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.52%), JSW Steel(down 0.5%), Reliance Industries(down 0.49%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.39%), Coal India(down 0.36%), Tata Steel(down 0.29%), ITC(down 0.29%) and Britannia Industries(down 0.29%) were trading in the red.
