‘Provide breakfast for sanitary workers’

Coimbatore: Activists and councillors have urged the corporation to arrange breakfast for conservancy workers.
A woman contract employee from the central zone said, “While the reporting time has been changed to 7am from 6am, many of us have to start a hour or two before to reach work. It is not feasible for us to prepare food early in the morning. So we skip breakfast on most of the days.”
N Panneerselvam, an activist, urged the corporation to provide breakfast for conservancy workers. Two councillors also raised the issue at the council meeting on Thursday. They suggested that the corporation must to arrange food from Amma Canteens for conservancy workers. Corporation commissioner M Prathap assured to explore the the possibility of providing breakfast for workers. tnn
