Mandya boy dies in freak mishap

Mandya: A boy died after his neck got entangled to a sari tied from a ceiling as a swing at his home near here recently. Sampath, 9, died due to strangulation.
Sampath was the son of Srinivasa of Bevinahalli village in KR Pete taluk, and the incident happened while he was playing after returning from school on Thursday, police said.
He was studying in Class III at Government Primary School in the village.
Parents have told the police that the boy fell unconscious after his neck got entangled in the sari. Though Sampath was rushed to a hospital, he did not respond to treatment and died on the same day.
