‘Oppn is being harassed in Yogi govt’

Kanpur: Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav on Saturday attacked the Yogi Adityanath led government of the state and said that there have been SP governments in the state but the kind of harassment that the opposition is facing in this government has never happened before.
"We always respected the opposition when we were in the government. Their views were always heard. This is the first government in the state which does not listen to the opposition. There is only harassment... the government harasses public representatives by filing false cases against them and putting them in jail. This is the most corrupt government," he said while taking part in a private event in the city.
The whole state has been left in the hands of the officials, he alleged.
"The SP will fight against this government on the streets. Reservation in local body elections is being abolished. If reservation is to be saved, then a struggle will have to be waged for it. Satyagraha will be launched in the New Year. There is no such thing as law and order in the present government," Shivpal further said.
