Jaipur: In the last three years, there has been a continuous increase in the number of trap cases against the corrupt public servants in the state. In 2022, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) organised 465 trap cases, stated ACB on Saturday while sharing their yearly data.
BL Soni, outgoing director general (DG), ACB sharing the details, said, “In 2020 we had organised 313 traps followed by 430 in the year 2021 and in 2022 we had organised 465 traps against the public servants demanding bribes.” Soni added that even the prosecution percentage remained 51.17. “In 2022 we got disposal of 233 cases in the court, out of which 133 public servants and 12 private persons got convicted,” he added.
He stated that the helpline started by the ACB proved to be a handy tool in cracking a whip against corruption in the state. “Also we had organised public outreach programmes across the state. We also monitored the investigation of various cases and facilitated investigating officers (IOs) in getting prosecution sanction,” he added. He added that ACB also received a record number of prosecution sanctions in 2022. “In 2020 we got prosecution sanctions in 264 cases followed by 518 cases in 2021 and 708 cases in the year 2022,” he added.
On his retirement day, Soni thanked his seniors and subordinates and urged them to serve the
common man and downtrodden people in the society. Soni, a 1988 batch IPS officer retired on Saturday.
