Colvale worker succumbs to burn injuries

Panaji: A worker, Yasin Ansari, 55, from Uttar Pradesh, who was injured in the December 28 blaze that erupted at an illegal scrapyard in Colvale, passed away on Saturday.
The persons, father-son duo Rizwan and Irfan Khan, who were operating the scrapyard have now been booked for causing death due to negligence, PSI Kunal Naik said.
An FIR was registered against the owners earlier for their negligence which caused the fire and for endangering human life.
The fire had raged on for several hours. Six fire tenders and over 35 tankers of water were used to douse the flames.
On Saturday, the post mortem revealed Ansari had suffered 90% burns. tnn
