4 dist hospitals selected for Kayakalp Award
Kanpur: Four hospitals of the district including Manyavar Kanshi Ram Sanyukt Chikitsalaya and Kamlapat Memorial hospital (KPM) have been selected once again for Kayakalp Award for year 2022-23.
The announcement has made the health department happy and said that all four hospitals of the district will get a prize of Rs 3 lakhs each and this sum will be spent on enhancing the facilities for the patients.
According to chief medical officer, Alok Ranjan these awards are given to the medical units which run the hospital according to the standard and provide better facilities to the patients. Those who perform better in internal and external evaluation are selected for the award.
The concerned officers and employees of the health department deserve congratulations for this. The hospitals have got the award because of the better working system of the entire staff, he added.
Nodal Officer and ACMO of Rejuvenation Scheme, SK Singh said that at the district level, District Women’s Hospital (Dufferin) has secured the first position by scoring 81.29 percent marks. District Men’s Hospital Ursula secured the second position by securing 78.23 percent marks, Kamlapat Memorial Hospital (KPM) secured the third position by securing 75.71 percent marks and Manyavar Kanshi Ram Joint Hospital secured the fourth position by securing 74.54 percent marks.
All the hospitals selected for the award will get an amount of Rs 3 lakh from the government, out of which 75 percent will be given as incentive for hospital arrangements and 25 percent for the staff, he said.
District Consultant Quality Assurance Dr. Arif Baig congratulated all the staff including Chief Medical Superintendent and Hospital Quality Manager of all district hospitals. According to him, the Government of India had launched this ambitious scheme on May 15, 2015, with the aim of promoting cleanliness and good practices at government health centres.
Under this, assessment of health centres is done in three phases on the basis of a prescribed checklist. Medical units scoring more than 70 percent marks in all the three phases are honored at the national (Government of India)/state level and awarded with citation and award money, he informed .
According to the scheme, Rs 50 lakh is given to the district level hospitals which get the first position in the state, Rs 20 lakh to the second and Rs 10 lakh to the third and Rs 3 lakh to the hospitals which get more than 70 percent marks he added.
