Dumka: The missing driver of one of the three lorries, which fell into the Ganga from a freight vessel in Sobhanpur bank in Sahebganj on Friday, could not be traced even on Saturday, while the search operation was halted in the evening due to low visibility.
Sahebganj sub-divisional officer (SDO, civil) Rahulji Anandji directed the rescue operation to halt in the evening and resume the same from Sunday morning, under administrative watch.
Sarfuddin Ansari (34) of Govindpur in Dhanbad district, who was the driver of the ill-fated lorry, was sitting in the cabin when the vehicle, loaded with stone chips, fell off the freight vessel after it allegedly jilted due to a tyre burst in one of the six lorries, which were being taken to the construction site of the proposed bridge over the Ganga, by Dilip Buildcon (DBL) company.
