CH Pratap Reddy promoted, to continue as Bengaluru top cop

BENGALURU: The government on Saturday promoted 45 IPS officers and transferred at least five others. Police commissioner CH Pratap Reddy has been promoted as DGP from ADGP, and will continue as the city top cop. Normally, the city police commissioner's post is reserved for ADGP rank.
DGP (prisons) Alok Mohan has been transferred as DGP (fire and emergency services) in place of senior IPS officer Amar Kumar Pandey, who has retired.
M Chandrasekhar has been promoted as ADGP and posted as additional commissioner of police (east division). Another senior IPS officer, Soumendu Mukherji, has been promoted as ADGP and posted in the police computer wing.
Similarly, BR Ravikante Gowda has been promoted as IGP and posted at central range, which covers Bengaluru Rural.
SD Sharanappa (joint commissioner of police-crime) and MN Anuchet (joint commissioner of police-traffic) have both been promoted to the rank of deputy inspector general of police (DIGP). They will continue in the same posts.
